My name is Susanne Layla Petersen, I am an interdisciplinary artist based in Frederiksberg, Denmark. 

Because I am an artist, I am expected to write biographies and artist statements. The biography is supposed to be written in third person – how ridiculous, to write about yourself in third person.

There is too much focus on the person, in the art world, and too little focus on the work.

I would rather disappear, and let the work communicate with the audience without my interference. I have nothing to prove, I don’t have to convince anyone. I believe in the work and in the audience.
